Everything About UsThis webpage shows everything you always wanted to know about us. Negotiation Beyond Conflict is the website and trading name of The Negotiation Circle Pty Ltd (ABN 39 113 280 854) formed in 2005.
Our Philosophy
My passion is resolving really difficult issues fraught with conflict. Premium conflict resolution, if you like. I do so because of my family's personal history of conflict, and after more than 20 years of a professional career mired in corporate conflict I thought, surely, there must be a better way...
After studying negotiation skills for some years, I synthesised many concepts to develop our own IP to help other people resolve conflict. I do so by intervening to resolve difficult conflicts for our clients ("people problems") and by showing others how to raise and resolve difficult situations using simple and practical negotiation techniques.
Nowadays I deliver the famous PIGS! conference session - which soon became the PIGS! eBook - present training seminars, give one-on-one coaching for individuals, facilitate sessions for small groups to resolve tricky issues and realise opportunities, and sell CD's for follow up learning. Most of our work is with mid to large size companies and industry groups.
My Experience
I invested 15 years with major advertising agencies, including running my own agency. Then a further 5 years in marketing with Telstra, before joining a creative training company in 2000 to become a facilitator, trainer and professional speaker.
For the past 4 years I've been developing new ideas and honing my conflict resolution skills, talking with lots of interesting businesspeople, writing The Conflict Report, networking and presenting our practical material. Almost 30 years later, I'm no stranger to conflict!
Personal
Lyn and I live in Melbourne, having been married for over 15 years. Keen golfers, we play most weekends in the elusive quest for the perfect game. This proves tough, so we often strive for "good" and sometimes that's beyond us, too. Which is why you'll find us after the game in the Spike Bar talking of "if only..."
